Another guest is on the way to the Holy Land: British singer and actress Marianne Faithfull will arrive in Israel
for a concert in Holon on March 7 as part of the International Woman's Festival.
Faithfull is to arrive accompanied by her band and will perform some of her old songs as well as new material from an album that is set to be released later in the year. Her last album, Before the Poison, was released in 2005.
Nearly a year ago, the singer was diagnosed with breast cancer. Following the unfortunate news, she was forced to cancel a world tour that was already in the works. However, since the cancer had been discovered at an early stage, Marianne has been able to resume her touring schedule.
Faithfull recently completed a tour in France.
Marianne Faithfull was born in London on December 26, 1946. She began performing in the mid-60s as a singer performing in various cafés. Faithfull is considered by many as one of the few singers who was
able to maintain her original style and innovativeness after her success in the 60's.
During her career, Faithful released a slew of albums and played in a number of movies.
She had a much publicized relationship with Rolling Stone's lead singer Mick Jagger in the late 60's.
