Chief Rabbi Metzger: Prohibit violent retribution

Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger said: "I call for the forbidding of private preparations to take the law into one's own hands for the purposes of revenge" at a remembrance ceremony for the eight killed at the attack on the Mercaz Harav yeshiva in Jerusalem last week.

Nevertheless, the rabbis called on the Israeli government to "take all possible measures in order to prevent murder such as this in the future." (Neta Sela)
