Music video by Israeli singer Yohanathan ranks number nine on DNA Magazine’s list of best gay-themed music videos
Australian gay men’s magazine, DNA, has included the video for the song “Hot Summer Nights” by Israeli singer Yohanathan on its list of top gay-themed music videos.
The video for Yohanathan’s song, with includes a steamy homo-erotic kiss, came out last year, just as the singer himself "came out" and announced that he was gay.
The singer, who was formerly known by his surname Gatro, also recorded an English version of the song, which he had hoped would garner international acclaim outside Israel.
DNA Magazine’s top gay video list, which was published in both print and online version of the magazine, also includes videos by Madonna (“Express Yourself”), Queen, George Michael, Take That, The Pet Shop Boys, and Olivia Newton-John.
"I am really glad that this video is making a real impact on the international gay scene,” said Yohanathan.
“It was also mentioned in prominent gay magazine Out, and is garnering a lot of attention all across the world. This clearly illustrates why I decided to focus so much of my time and attention on the world market.”
