Pinhas Nusbaum (1917-2003) grew up in Poland and studied at the Hebrew Gymnasium in Krakow until 1936. That year he received a certificate to immigrate to Israel as a student, and was accepted into the Hebrew University in Jerusalem to study the history of the Jewish people and geography.
That year the 1936-1939 events took place, and Nusbaum was inducted to the Haganah organization. All his family members who remained in Poland perished in the Holocaust. After completing his studies, he moved to Haifa, where he worked as a tour guide. For the rest of his life he engaged in teaching and education in Haifa, Akko and the surrounding areas.
This article features photos from the album documenting Pinhas' hiking trips across the country between 1939 and 1967.
