A Swedish court has convicted six men of involvement in a people-smuggling ring and sentenced them to between four months and three years in prison.
Swedish news agency TT says the network smuggled people from Iraq and other Middle Eastern countries to Europe and provided them with false travel documents. TT reports they charged the migrants up to 100,000 kronor ($16,700). Sweden has seen a big influx of Iraqi asylum-seekers in recent years, with more than 18,000 arriving in 2007. (AP)
