Mashaal: Hamas will offer 10-year truce if Israel retreats to pre-1967 lands

Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal announced Hamas would grant Israel a 10-year 'hudna', or truce, as an implicit proof of recognition if Israel withdraws from the areas outside of the Green Line.
He said he made the offer to former US President Jimmy Carter during talks Friday and Saturday in the Syrian capital. However, Mashaal told reporters in Damascus that Hamas would not formally recognize Israel. (AP)
