Knesset Member Zevulun Orlev (National Union-National Religious Party) has submitted a bill stating that the victims of the Independence War would be granted a citizenship even though they died before the State's inception.
According to Orlev, the Interior Ministry says it cannot grants these fallen a citizenship as they are no longer alive. "The state 'the people of the silver plate' dreamed of must grant a citizenship to these Israeli heroes," he said. (Amnon Meranda)
