Balkan Beat Box, Berry Sakharof, Yossi Fine and Mosh Ben Ari, are just a few of the big names lending a hand to a new social initiative aimed at helping teenage African refugees in Israel.
Joined by Hadag Nahash, Tomer Yosef, Soulico, Oy Division, Los Caparos, the Palm Tree Dance Theatre and Alma Zohar, they will all perform in a special benefit which will take place on May 24 at the Theatre Club in Jaffa.
Tomer Yosef, who initiated the performance and the producers said that βit all began when Tomer saw a news report that touched him deeply. He decided to put on this show and to gather his friends.β All proceeds from this one-time event will be used for the purchasing of two apartments in which teenage refugees can reside in a commune-style environment.
The purpose of the evening, added the producers, "is to lend them a hand in recuperating from the journey and in starting over, just letting teens be teens.β An additional goal is to collect enough money to build community apartments for 100 teens.
The public is also welcome to donate additional money and to pay more for their tickets. The project is being managed by Assafaid,
