Israel, Syria launch mediated peace talks

The Prime Minister's Office confirmed Wednesday that Israel and Syria have begun peace talks, mediated by a third-party – Turkey.

"Both sides have declared their intent to conduct the talks in good faith, in order to conduct a full, comprehensive dialogue; and reach a comprehensive peace agreement according to the framework set at the (1991) Madrid Summit," said a statement by the PMO. (Roni Sofer)
