Iranian defense minister says Syria is Iran's ally
Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammed Najjar said during a meeting with his Syrian counterpart, Hassan Ali Turkmani, that Syria was Iran's strategic ally, the Iranian news agency Fars reported Sunday.
In a press conference after the meeting, Najjar added that "the Islamic states must expand the ties between them in order to defend themselves against the dangers threatening them and the region." (Dudi Cohen)
