Greece, Israel, Cypress to share transplant organs

None

Greece, Israel and Cyprus plan to share transplant organs because of their small populations and low donation rates.

Health officials from the three Mediterranean nations were in Miami on Thursday, visiting the transplant institute at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Institute director Andreas Tzakis says patients who have severe heart or liver failure have lower chances of survival because an organ transplant match is hard to find in those countries.(AP)
