Jordanian king calls for end of Middle East conflict

King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan called on Nobel Peace laureates to work towards bringing economic prosperity and peace to the Middle East.

"The future of the Middle East can begin here. We must look ahead and create and Middle East of peace and progress for the young generation. The Middle East conflict must end in an independent Palestinian state living side-by-side with a secure Israel," the king said at a conference for Nobel Peace laureates in Petra. (Ronen Medzini)
