The first-year students at the Interactive Communications and Media Faculty in the Sapir College will be mounting a unique exhibition this coming July.
The showing, titled "Captivating" will feature posters, photographs, typographies and drawings pertaining to Israel's three POWs, Hamas-held
Gilad Shalit and
Hizbullah captives
Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser.

"The idea for this show initially came about a year ago," said the exhibition's curator, Ranny Radezli, who is also one of the faculty's lecturers. "I'm afraid that even with all the recent developments in
the captives' cases, these posters will still be relevant for a long time to come."
The topics features in the exhibition vary from sympathizing with the families, criticizing the government and protesting the public's apathy. "The students were told to design posters about the abductees without using their photos; and with the main message being that two years have passes since they were taken," added Radezli. "From then on, the students expressed themselves freely."

The 24 posters chosen for the showing were elected by a four-judge panel. "As a teacher I believe our students should deal with more than designing food packagings. The enthusiasm was great and it felt as if we were part of something bigger," he added.
The exhibition will be featured in the Israeli Design Center, in Holon's Mediatheque Compound, from July 1, to July 12. The Shalit, Regev and Goldwasser families have been invited to the opening and reportedly intend on attending.
