Iraq: Female suicide bomber wounds awakening council member

The Iraqi military says a female suicide bomber has wounded one person northeast of Baqouba in an attack on a local group of Sunni volunteers who have turned against insurgents.

The military says the awakening council members opened fire on the woman Sunday before she reached their headquarters, triggering her explosives belt. (AP)
