IDF reports 25% of religious population doesn’t attend yeshiva
Colonel Tziki Sela, head of the Department of Planning and Manpower Administration said in the education committee that 7,000 youths evade their mandatory service.
According to Sela, about 25% of youths who evade service by declaring themselves ultra-Orthodox Torah scholars never attend Orthodox yeshivas, while 30-40% of the girls declaring religious do not lead a religious life style. (Moran Zelikovich)
