The London-based al-Hayat newspaper reported Sunday that Damascus is working towards setting up a meeting between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal.
The meeting is reportedly aimed at "laying the groundwork for a meaningful dialogue" between the Palestinian factions. (Roee Nahmias)
