The French Foreign Ministry says explosives have been stolen from a mine-clearing site near the eastern city of Lyon.
The ministry says the explosives are normally kept at the site in Corbas for use in destroying old munitions, and that "security failings" at the site made the theft possible. A report by weekly newspaper Journal de Dimanche posted on its Web site says about 61 pounds (28 kilograms) of plastic explosives and detonators were stolen. (AP)
