22 sentenced to death for rebel attack in Sudan

Defense lawyers say 22 people from Darfur have been sentenced to death for their roles in a rebel attack on Sudan's capital two months ago that left more than 200 people dead.

Lawyers Adam Hassab and Adam Belaila say judges in two separate courts on Thursday convicted the 22 of undermining the Sudanese regime by force, belonging to a terrorist group and 14 other charges. (AP)
