"(Syrian President) Bashar Assad's visit to Tehran and the statements he has made there are proof of the failure of the Kadima government's policy," Likud faction chairman Gideon Sa`ar said.
"After (Prime Minister) Ehud Olmert and (Foreign Minister) Tzipi Livni rolled out the red carpet for Assad in Paris and chased after him to get a handshake, he is responding with a resounding slap in the face.
