Two 15-year old teenagers were detained on Tuesday for allegedly taking a six-year old boy from his nanny’s house, claiming that his mother owed them NIS 500 ($140) for babysitting.

On Monday afternoon, two teenage girls arrived at the playground in which the three children, of the woman they claim owes them money, were playing. The children’s new nanny was there with them.

The two girls allegedly abducted the boy and left the park in the direction of the Baka neighborhood in Jerusalem. The new babysitter called his mother, who then called the police.

The police began searching for the child and found him in the yard of a house with one of the suspect’s neighbors.

In the meantime, the mother arrived on the scene as well because she too suspected the babysitter. The girl was arrested with her friend and during the investigation claimed that the mother owed her NIS 500 ($140) for watching her children.

According to the disgruntled babysitter, she thought that if she took the boy, the mother would pay her.

The main suspect was released under limiting condition following her interrogation. The other young girl was unconditionally released.

The mother claimed that the babysitter received NIS 1,200 ($340) for her work, but her parents called later demanding the mother pay an additional sum.
