A streetcar named Israel
Colorful trolley travelling on Vienna's streets offers its passengers a unique taste of Holy Land
"Israel" is the name of a special streetcar which will travel on Vienna's streets for three months.
This colorful trolley, which was initiated by the Israeli Embassy in Austria and is jointly financed by the Tourism Ministry, will provide its tens of thousands of passengers with a unique Israeli experience.
On the outside it is decorated with photos of Israel, while on the inside, passengers will be able to watch video clips from Israel on thin screens and enjoy other treats such as falafel, Israeli salads and Israeli wine.
The lucky passengers invited to ride the "Israel streetcar" will include various quality control groups, journalists, cultural figures, politicians, travel agents and religious scholars, as well as ordinary citizens and tourists.
The designed trolley will arrive at its station on different hours and pick up passengers, free of charge.
The Israeli Embassy in Vienna has called on those interested to produce a 3-5 minute film-strip on Israel. Should it be successful, it will be screened on the streetcar.
"Let's show everyone what we have in Israel, if possible in English, and even better – in German," said the idea's initiator, Deputy Israeli Ambassador to Vienna Guy Feldman.
The short films can be sent to the following email address starting Sunday: [email protected]
