A disappointing Sunday for the Israeli Olympic team: Israeli surfer Shahar Tzuberi dropped to third place overall in the RS:X Men windsurfing competition, after coming in sixth in his sixth sail and 19th in the seventh sail. Tzuberi appealed the results of the seventh sail, claiming that Greece's Nikolaos Kaklamanakis collided with him, but the appeal was denied. Tzuberi has four more sails left before the end of the Olympic Games.

Tzuberi's teammate Maayan Davidovitz came in 14th in her sixth sail in the RS:X Women Windsurfing competition, and is now ranked 13th overall.

Israeli high jumper Niki Palli was ousted from the medal race Sunday, after failing to make the 7.38-foot jump required in the qualification round.

Palli's first leap saw him clear the 6.89-foot jump with ease. He was able to clear his two next jumps, at 7.05 and 7.21 feet, but failed all three attempts to clear the fourth jump, at 7.38-feet, effectively ending his stint at the 2008 Olympics

On the mats, gymnast Alexander Shatilov came in eighth and last place in the men's all-around final Sunday, scoring 14.125 points. Shatilov was the first Israeli gymnast to ever reach the Olympic final in this discipline.

On the shooting range, two of Israel's three marksmen ended their Olympic performance, scoring disappointing results in the men's 50-meter rifle 3-positions category: Doron Egozi came in 36th with 1,155 points, while Gil Simkovich was ranked 38th with 1,153 points.

Israel's leading marksman, Guy Starik, found himself just one point short of an Olympic final in Friday's men's 50-meter rifle prone range.
