Israeli oarsman Michael Kolganov qualified for the Beijing Olympics' men's 500-meter canoeing semi-finals Tuesday, after finishing the qualifications' sail in first place and coming in at 1:38:39m.

The 500-meter race won Kolganov an Olympic bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Earlier, Israeli sailor Shahar Tzuberi finished his tenth RSX windsurfing sail in the 2008 Beijing Olympics in fourth place. Tzuberi's has been able to pick up speed after several races which saw him slip out of the medal race, and is now ranked fourth overall.

The Israeli windsurfer still has one chance at an Olympic medal in the last race, scheduled for Wednesday.
