White House: US-Russia civil nuclear pact at risk

The United States may scrap a civil nuclear agreement reached with Moscow as punishment for Russia's actions in Georgia, the White House said on Thursday.

The Bush administration is weighing options, including sanctions, because it says Russia has failed to adhere to the French-brokered ceasefire agreed earlier this month. "We are in the process of re-evaluating our relationship with Russia," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino told reporters. "We are doing that in concert with our international partners." (Reuters)
