A moderate earthquake shook Pakistan's capital and some northwestern cities Saturday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, officials said.
It had a magnitude of 5.7 and was centered about 300 kilometers (180 miles) north of Peshawar in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan, an earthquake-prone region, said Altaf Gul of the state-run seismological center in the northwest city of Peshawar. (AP)
