On Sunday afternoon several shots were fired at a private vehicle traveling through the neighborhood of 'Ein Ganim' in Petah Tikva in what appears to be a botched criminal assassination. Both the shooter and the intended target fled the scene. The identities of the two individuals is not known, police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The shooter had been walking on the sidewalk when he spotted the target sitting in a car and opened fire at him. Police alerted to the scene found both the shooter and the target had fled, but bullet cartridges were recovered by forensic teams.

Police were unable to determine if the target had indeed been hit, and no hospital in the area reported admitting a patient who fit the profile. Investigators said they are currently perusing several leads, and are searching for both the target and the shooter.

Another incident took place at 2:30 am between Saturday and Sunday. A grenade was thrown at a house causing damage, but not injuries. The investigation revealed that the targeted house belongs to a man who had previously been investigated by the police. According to the police, there is no connection between the two incidents.

On Friday, a home made explosive charge was discovered in Natanya near a kindergarten. The charge was intended for Rami Amira, who was the target of an attempted assassination  that killed an innocent bystander. A police source told Ynet that following the placement of the explosive charge near a kindergarten, the criminal element has no borders and does not care if innocents are injured. "The criminal element want to strike their targets, even at the cost of hurting innocent civilians" said the police source.
