Rose Pizem's body transferred to airport

Murdered four-year-old to be buried in Paris, per father's request

Four-year-old Rose Pizem's body was transferred from the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute to Ben-Gurion International Airport Wednesday. At her father's request, Rose's body will be flown to France on Thursday for burial in Paris.

Rose went missing in May and her body was found in Tel Aviv's Yarkon River last Thursday. Her mother Marie-Charlotte Renault and grandfather Ronny Ron have been arrested for her murder.

Representatives from the French embassy signed over the body to representatives at the airport. Once in France, the body will be transferred to funeral organizers, at which time family members in France will be able to view the body.

"This is our pain and we're not interested in speaking about it or sharing it with the media," Rose's paternal grandmother Betty Sghaier, who lives in France, told Ynet.

A representative of the French Foreign Ministry will attend the funeral. Collette le Braun, the French consul in Israel, said Tuesday that the French government would fund the transport of Rose's body from Israel to France.

"We are making every effort in order to get Rose's body to France before Friday," le Braun said.
