Campaign for Shalit's release to hold holiday dinner outside Livni's home
Members call on newly-elected Kadima chairwoman to 'act immediately' to ensure captive soldier's release
Members of the Public Campaign for Gilad Shalit's Release announced Thursday that they will be holding a special Rosh Hashana dinner outside newly-elected Kadima Chairwoman Tizpi Livni's home.
The campaign headquarters congratulated Livni on her win, adding that it "expects her to take immediate action" to ensure the captive soldier's release."
Shalit's parents, Noam and Aviva, are expected to attend the dinner.
Earlier this week the soldier's parents demanded that Israel stop funneling funds to Gaza and convene a cabinet meeting which would discuss their son's abduction.
They threatened that should their demand be turned down they would petition the High Court of Justice.
Noam Shalit told Ynet that "the ongoing funds transfer to Hamas constitutes a clearly unreasonable policy on the part of the State."
