Senior Military Intelligence officer: Syria, Iran relations tightening

Head of Military Intelligence Research Division, Brigadier-General Yossi Baidatz, said Sunday that "Syria is operating on two contradicting avenues: It's ready to negotiate with Israel on the one hand and deepening its ties with terror groups on the other."

Syria, added Baidatz in a cabinet briefing, "is funneling a great deal of weapons and ammunition to Lebanon, tightening its relations with Iran and fortifying its aerial and ground defenses, with Russia and Iran's assistance." (Roni Sofer)
