Israeli tennis player Dudi Sela advanced to the finals of the China Open on Saturday, in the biggest win of his career so far.
After beating the fifth and 16th ranked players over the last few days, Sela defeated the 35th Rainer Schuettler of Germany with a score of 6:3, 6:3 to arrive at the ATP finals.
Just 1.70 cm tall, Sela is currently Israel's first-ranked tennis player, ahead of Harel Levy and Noam Okun. Until Saturday, Sela was ranked 92 worldwide, but the win in Beijing promises him 65th place at least.
On Sunday Sela is scheduled to play either second-seeded Andy Roddick, of the US, or unseeded German Bjorn Phau, of Germany. If he wins the tournament, he will become the first Israeli to take first place at an ATP singles tournament since 1993.
