Yemen: 28 Somali migrants die in boat capsize

Yemen's Interior Ministry says 28 Somali migrants have died after their boat capsized off the town of Shabwa because of strong wind and high waves. A ministry statement says the accident took place Wednesday. It says a coast guard patrol reached the boat and rescued 23 other migrants.
The United Nations refugee agency reported a separate incident on Sunday in which 52 Somalis died after being adrift for 18 days in a smuggler boat ferrying them to Yemen. Hundreds of Africans die every year trying to reach Yemen. (AP)
