Japanese police searched the home Sunday of a man arrested after he confessed to fatally stabbing a former health minister and his wife in a crime believed to be linked to the official's role in a pension fund scandal.
Takeshi Koizumi, 46, turned himself in to police late Saturday, saying he had killed the retired vice health minister and his wife. Police said Koizumi confessed to stabbing both victims. Takehiko Yamaguchi, 66, and his wife Michiko, 61, were found dead Tuesday near the doorway of their home in Saitama, just outside Tokyo. Evidence showed the pair had been stabbed repeatedly, police said. (AP)
