2 moderate earthquakes rattle remote Alaska

Two moderate earthquakes rattled remote locations in Alaska on Friday, according to the US National Earthquake Center.

 

A magnitude 5.3 quake struck 13 miles (21 km) west northwest of the Alaska town of Anchor Point, which is about 200 miles (322 km) south of Anchorage. About a minute later, a magnitude 5.1 quake occurred about 28 miles (45 km) southwest of Cantwell, Alaska, which is about 200 miles (322 km) north of Anchorage. (Reuters)
