NASA delays space shuttle Endeavour's landing

Dangerously high wind forced NASA to delay space shuttle Endeavour's landing Sunday, and the astronauts were ordered to take an extra swing around the world in hopes the weather would improve. Mission Control called off the first landing attempt of the day four hours in advance.
NASA held out hope that the weather at the main landing strip at Kennedy Space Center might cooperate for a second try in midafternoon, but conditions didn't look favorable then, either. If Kennedy didn't pan out, it appeared likely that commander Christopher Ferguson and his crew would be directed to the backup site in Southern California. (AP)
