Clear for publication: A rocket fired from northern Gaza Sunday morning landed near Gan Yavne in south Israel. There were no reports of injuries or damage, but the attack did offer further proof of Hamas' increased capability to fire long-range projectiles.
Gan Yavne is the northernmost Israeli community to be targeted by rocket fire from Gaza.

"The military censor placed the landing site under embargo so as not to disclose the coordinates to the enemy," a police official in Kiryat Malachi said. "It was assumed that after a few hours they (gunmen) would alter their launching angles."
The attack stirred panic among the residents of Gan Yavne.
The rocket attacks on Israel subsided Sunday evening, but one Qassam did hit a shed in a kibbutz located in the Eshkol Regional Council in south Israel. A kibbutz volunteer was treated for very light injuries.
In addition, at least five mortar shells were launched at the western Negev during the afternoon and evening hours, but there were no reports of injuries or damage in the attacks.
Earlier the Israeli Air Force has struck smuggling tunnels along the Philadelphi Route, near the Israeli-Egyptian border.
The attack, the first in the area since Operation Cast Lead began, resulted in two Palestinian fatalities.
