South Korea and the United States have warned North Korea against firing a long-range missile, saying the move would trigger international sanctions and jeopardize Washington's willingness to seek better ties with Pyongyang.
Seoul's Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan said Wednesday a missile firing will "inevitably" entail sanctions because it would be a violation of a 2006 UN Security Council resolution banning Pyongyang from pursuing missile or nuclear programs. (AP)
