Defense Ministry: Amos Gilad continues to deal with Egypt
A source from Defense Minister Ehud Barak's office said, "Head of the Defense Ministry's Diplomatic-Security Bureau, Major General (Res.) Amos Gilad, continues to deal with matters related to international sources, including Egypt, on behalf of the defense establishment."
The announcement came following Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's decision to suspend Gliad from his post. The announcement also said that "the prime minister's decision not to use Amos Gilad's abilities and experience is his right, but the body being hurt by this is the State of Israel". (Ynet)
