Soldiers bribed by Palestinians at crossing get 10.5 months in jail

Two soldiers from the Kfir Brigade, convicted of letting Palestinians pass through a roadblock without checking them in exchange for a bribe of hundreds of shekels have been sentenced to 10.5 months in prison and nine months probation.

 

According to the indictment filed with the Jaffa Military Court, the two soldiers charged about NIS 100 ($24.3) for every Palestinian seeking to pass through the roadblock near the West Bank village of Jabara in the Tulkarem area. The judges ruled that the two abandoned the State's security and its residents. (Hanan Greenberg)
