Abbas: Israel still far from choosing peace
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said at the Arab summit in Qatar Monday, "Our experience after the Annapolis conference has proven that Israel is still far from leaving behind settlement policies and far from choosing the path of peace.
"While we held negotiations for a permanent settlement, Israel continued to create a reality that would shape the permanent settlement map according to its expanding ambitions… Israel continued with its aggressive policies in the war it opened at the end of last year against the besieged Gaza Strip, in which it used its entire war machine against helpless civilians."
