The 'beach' is scheduled to remain open for six months as part of a special festival planned by the Israeli Embassy in Austria. The festival's events are also scheduled to take place in variOUS of other locations throughout the country.

The Foreign Ministry is currently planning worldwide events presenting Israeli tradition and culture. The embassy in Austria has previously launched an 'Israel Streetcar' project, which included a Viennese streetcar decorated with campaign-like images and LCD screens broadcasting films about the State.

'Tel Aviv Beach' is about 1,000 square meters large and is equipped with a giant screen on one end and a Bauhaus-style café on the other. Beach chairs, pyramid lamps, a seating area, and internet cubicles will also be provided.

The festival will include film nights, hi-tech and game nights, "quiet nights" complete with yoga workshops to the sounds of waves, an open mike night, and more. International cooperation days will also be held, with the participation of foreign embassies and organizations, and a fashion show is also in the making.

The main event is scheduled for mid-July, with the participation of Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai and a number of other celebrities.
