An all-time record number of Israeli entrances to the United States was noted for the year 2008, data from the US Chamber of Commerce revealed.

According to the data, 332,257 Israeli entrances to the US were recorded in 2008, a 6.1% rise from the prior year (313,000).

The previous record of Israeli entrances to the US stood at 325,199 in the year 2000.

The following year, due to the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City, the general number of tourists to the US declined, and in 2003, 249,034 Israeli entrances were noted.

The rise in incoming Israeli tourism to the United States has been attributed to the low dollar rate, that has led many Israelis to prefer to vacation in the US instead of Europe.

While 2008 did see a record high in Israeli entrances to the US, the Americans actually predicted even higher numbers, and according to the 2005 and 2006 forecasts, at least 348,000 Israelis were expected to travel to the US, meaning 5% more than the actual number.
