The road to Hollywood
After three songs she wrote and performed made it to 'The L Word' series' soundtrack, Israeli singer Yael Deckelbaum hopes more doors will open up abroad
Israeli singer Yael Deckelbaum had her eyes set on the US market when she included only songs in English in her first album, "Ground Zero".
And this apparently did the trick, as two songs from the CD have been incorporated into the soundtrack of American TV drama series, "The L Word".
The songs – "Alice" and "100% Light" – have been played in episodes of the series' fourth season, and a third song, which Deckelbaum created and performed with her all-female band "Habanot Nehama" was chosen to accompany the final episode of the series' sixth and final season.

"The L World" portrays the lives of a group of Lesbian friends in Los Angeles. The series ran between 2004 and 2009 and was very popular with viewers.
Deckelbaum hopes that the inclusion of her songs in the series will open doors for her abroad.
"Like every good thing, this happened by accident," she recounted. "A good friend of mine, Ariel Neshri, simply sent the songs to the series' artistic director, and we pretty much forgot about it.
"One day I got an email from the production saying they decided to use the songs. But the biggest surprise was when they used the third song to conclude the final season," she added.
Your songs may become associated with a Lesbian audience.
"I don't care. I love the series very much. It's a great honor for me, and it definitely opens up some doors. I hope good things will come out of it.
"The people involved in the series' production came to see 'Habanot Nehama' when we were on tour in Los Angeles and really loved the concert."
So the next goal is a movie soundtrack?
"You're on."
