Independence Day Haggadah from Emunah

Special Haggadah by Emunah includes extracts about Israel as the Promised Land, the hurdles that had to be overcome in order to reach independence, and how the dream of salvation is fulfilled in the State of Israel

Emunah, the largest religious Zionist women's organization in Israel, has produced a special Haggadah for Independence Day. It includes extracts about Israel as the Promised Land, the hurdles that had to be overcome in order to reach independence, and how the dream of salvation of the Jewish people and the hope of Zionism is fulfilled in the State of Israel.

Emunah regards the distribution of this new and special Haggadah as an attempt to infuse added content and value to the Independence Day holiday.

It is the hope of Emunah to create on this day, the anniversary of the establishment of the State - alongside the popular picnics and performance - a custom of learning and reflection in the Jewish and Zionist tradition. Thus, the Haggadah includes the prayers for the State of Israel and for the soldiers of the IDF, as well as appropriate Israeli songs and poems by modern Israeli writers.

As a religious Zionist women's movement, Emunah naturally also gives expression to the special role that women have played in the process of redemption and independence and devotes significant attention to outstanding women leaders.

" Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! (Nahum 2,1).

Liora Minka, Chairperson of Emunah
