Demjanjuk to ask Supreme Court to stop deportation

A lawyer for alleged death camp guard John Demjanjuk says he has sent the US Supreme Court a

request to halt the deportation of the 89-year-old to face charges in Germany.

John Broadley says he sent the motion Tuesday afternoon from Florida and expects it to be filed with the top US court Wednesday morning. Broadley says he will ask for a reprieve of at least 90 days so he can argue that a federal appeals court erred last week when it denied Demjanjuk a stay. (AP)
