Two Moshav Lahish residents fall 33 feet to the ground after their plane hits high voltage wire at entrance to community; plane completely destroyed

Two Moshav Lahish residents sustained moderate wounds Saturday morning when they fell 33 feet to the ground after their light plane hit a high voltage wire.

The accident occurred at the entrance to the community, located in south Israel.

A Magen David Adom ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and paramedics administered first aid to the pilot, a man in his 40s, and his friend, who is in his 50s.

"The plane was completely destroyed," paramedic David Nahum told Ynet. "When we arrived at the scene they were conscious. The pilot sustained injuries to his head, hip and pelvis, while his friend was hurt in the chest area."

The men were airlifted to Beersheba's Soroka Medical Center for further treatment.

A little over a week ago a light plane crashed into the yard of a house in the city of Ness Ziona, located south of Tel Aviv. The pilot sustained light injuries in the crash, and the passenger was seriously wounded.
