EU lauds Obama's 'courage' in Mideast
The head of the European parliament has lauded the "courage and determination" of President Barack Obama to seek peace in the Middle East.
European Parliament President Hans-Gert Poettering said Thursday he backed a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and urged Israel to cooperate. Obama on Thursday called for a "new beginning between the United States and Muslims". (AP)
