Report: 2 Israeli women detained in Beirut

Two sisters arrested at airport attempting to leave Lebanon after one had participated in elections

Two Israeli sisters were arrested at Beirut's airport Wednesday, Hizbullah's al-Manar television station reported.

 

According to the report 67-year old Josephine Moussa and her 69-year old sister Georgette arrived in Lebanon a few days ago. They presented the authorities with Lebanese passports upon entering the country, and were detained attempting to leave.

 

The elder sister reportedly participated in the recent nationwide election, which took place earlier this week. The younger sister also holds a US passport, in addition to her Israeli and Lebanese documents.

 

After their arrest the sisters were taken in for questioning by Lebanese intelligence. The report said that according to their passports, they reside in Israel.
