Israel welcomes nomination of new IAEA chief

The Israel Atomic Energy Commission released a formal statement on behalf of the Israel government Thursday, welcoming the UN's choice of Yukiya Amano for its International Atomic Energy Agency chief.
"The State of Israel has every faith in Ambassador Amano's capabilities and trusts in his ability to head this important agency and its challenges. Israel will lend the ambassador whatever help he needs to succeed in his new position," said the statement. (Roni Sofer)
