France: Iran's arrest of academic a political move

France's foreign minister says a young French academic detained in Iran is a victim of political tensions between Iran and the West.

Bernard Kouchner says on France-Info radio Wednesday he talked with his Iranian counterpart by telephone at length about Clotilde Reiss' detention and was repeatedly asked why she attended an Iranian opposition protest. (AP)
