Sweden defends press freedom amid Lieberman's criticism

Sweden's Foreign Minister Carl Bildt has rejected Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman's calls for an official condemnation of a Swedish newspaper article, saying freedom of expression is a cornerstone of democracy.
Bildt wrote in a blog post late Thursday that he wouldn't condemn an article in Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet that suggested Israeli troops harvested the organs of dead Palestinians. He says freedom of expression is part of the Swedish constitution. Bildt says the condemnation of anti-Semitism is the only issue on which there has ever been complete unity in the Swedish parliament. (AP)
